Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log something I lent or borrowed?

1. Tap the + button on the Home screen
2. Choose "I lent it out" or "I borrowed it"
3. Enter the item and the other person's name
4. Optionally set a due date and notes
5. Tap "Add item"

How do due-date reminders work?

If you set a due date, Loanly schedules a local reminder on your device for 9am that day. These are scheduled entirely on your phone — there's no account or server involved, so reminders keep working with no internet connection.

How do I mark something as returned?

Open the item from the Home screen and tap "Mark as returned." It moves to the History screen and its reminder (if any) is cancelled.

How do I back up my data?

1. Tap "Backup" on the Home screen
2. Tap "Export backup file"
3. Choose where to save it (Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, etc.)

To restore, tap "Restore from file…" on the same screen and pick a previously exported backup. This replaces everything currently on the device with the backup's contents.

Does Loanly sync across my devices?

Not automatically. Loanly stores everything locally on one device, by design — there's no account system. Use the backup/restore feature above to move your data to a new device manually.

The app isn't working correctly

Try these steps:

1. Close and reopen the app
2. Make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store / Play Store
3. Restart your device
4. If issues persist, email us at koda.digital.co@gmail.com with a description of what happened

I'm not getting reminders

Check that notifications are allowed for Loanly in your device's Settings app (Settings → Notifications → Loanly on iOS; Settings → Apps → Loanly → Notifications on Android). Loanly requests this permission the first time you set a due date.
